A growing network with one clear mission

Genesis Back and Neck is not a typical chiropractic network. As the only provider in the nation using the DRX-9000, the only FDA-approved spinal decompression table, Genesis operates with a singular mission: save people from bulging and herniated discs so they can avoid back surgery. Their protocol carries a 91% success rate, and their goal is one million spines saved.

Since joining in 2023, Jessica (Jess) DeJong has helped lead Genesis from the inside, first as Chief Administrative Officer, now as Chief Operations Officer. In that time, the network has tripled in size nationwide. Every department has been rebuilt for efficiency. And at the center of that transformation sits a decision that Jessica calls one of the most important she has ever made.

The challenge

Genesis was quickly outgrowing its EHR

Before ChiroHD, Genesis used SilkOne.

As the network grew, the system was no longer meeting what Genesis needed at scale. Jess also raised HIPAA concerns that needed to be addressed.

The next EHR needed to support a highly specific operating model across a growing national network while staying simple enough to implement consistently from location to location.

Jess led the evaluation process and reviewed roughly 25 companies. Her decision carried enormous weight.

“I couldn’t make the wrong choice. It was, you make the right choice, and that’s the only choice that you have.”

Why ChiroHD

Trust made the difference

Jess’s evaluation went beyond features. She asked detailed questions about workflows, implementation, support, and what would happen when Genesis needed something outside the standard setup.

What kept bringing her back to ChiroHD was the consistency of the answers.

That trust started with her first meeting with Jarred Young, SVP of Sales and Marketing at ChiroHD.

“From the very first appointment meeting that we had with him, it was like home.”

Jessica said Jarred listened closely, followed up, and understood what Genesis needed from the transition. Just as importantly, the answers stayed clear and honest throughout the evaluation.

“I knew that you guys were being honest with what you could do, with how things are done… it was very comforting every step of the way, knowing that I was being told the truth.”

The onboarding

Support that adapted to Genesis

Genesis runs differently from a traditional chiropractic practice. Its clinics follow a specialized model, and Jessica knew from the start that they would not need every feature or workflow ChiroHD offers.

Instead of forcing Genesis into a standard setup, the ChiroHD and Genesis teams worked closely together to decide what should stay, what should be simplified, and how the platform should support the way their clinics already operate. That collaboration helped create a setup that felt specific to Genesis without making the system more complicated than it needed to be.

Jess said that same approach carried through when bigger requests came up.

“ChiroHD has leaned in with us every step of the way. We do have, like I mentioned before, the big asks, and I know everyone gets a little bit tense when I say this, but they’ve never made it feel like a big ask.”

— Jessica DeJong, Chief Operations Officer, Genesis Back and Neck

That gave Genesis a clearer, more repeatable path for bringing additional locations onto ChiroHD.

The advice every multi-location practice needs to hear

Jessica does not downplay what comes with changing EHRs. There are new workflows to learn, data to move, and more moving parts when that transition has to happen across a large network.

But after working through the evaluation, migration, onboarding, and first clinic transitions, Genesis now has a process it can carry forward as more locations make the switch.

Jessica’s advice is simple:

“Don’t let change scare you. This has been an amazing experience from start to finish… all you have to do is learn the system and enjoy all of the features that they have come together and made up so that your office can be more efficient. Your front office staff can be more efficient. Your tech can be more efficient.”
